AKMU are stepping into a new chapter—and doing it on their own terms.
Appearing on You Quiz on the Block, the duo shared insights into their newly established agency, offering a glimpse into a workplace shaped by their own creative philosophy.
Lee Chan-hyuk explained that the company name, often translated as a “wellspring of inspiration,” reflects how they approach music—treating inspiration as something to be continuously drawn from their everyday environment.
That mindset extends into their internal culture. Rather than traditional titles, Lee Chan-hyuk goes by “Wellmaster,” Lee Su-hyun is referred to as “Princess,” and staff are called “Inspiration,” creating a distinctly unconventional atmosphere.
While the approach has sparked curiosity, it has also drawn attention for how it shifts typical workplace dynamics. Lee Su-hyun noted that her brother still leads most decisions, hinting at the balance they continue to navigate as co-founders.
Despite initial concerns about leaving a major label, feedback within the company has reportedly been positive, with staff expressing satisfaction with the environment.
The episode also touched on Lee Su-hyun’s personal journey, including a period of emotional difficulty and how she found her way back to performing with her brother’s support.
After more than a decade under a single label, AKMU are now entering a phase defined by independence—and new possibilities.
