Shocking third team-up on the way? Actor Kim Mu-yeol is reportedly poised to reunite with director Hong Jong-chan for the third time—this time for the new medical K-drama First Doctor.

According to a report by IZE on April 2, Kim has received an offer to star in the medical drama First Doctor and is reviewing it positively.

Kim previously worked with Hong on the Netflix series Juvenile Justice and the upcoming May release Get Schooled. Adding to the reunion buzz, writer Kim Min-seok of Juvenile Justice is also attached, bringing the director, actor, and writer back together.

First Doctor is a human medical drama set in a university hospital’s pediatric surgery department that is struggling to survive amid a declining birth rate. It follows doctors who take on children’s first surgeries and safeguard their futures, delivering a weighty message through the unwavering dedication and struggles of mission-driven medical staff.

Kim Mu-yeol is said to have been offered a key role. His agency Prain TPC commented, "It’s true he received the offer, but nothing has been finalized yet," taking a cautious stance.

Currently showing a different side of himself on ENA’s travel variety show Crazy Tour, Kim has also been cast alongside Lee Jung-eun in Netflix’s action drama Halmae and is preparing to film.

Meanwhile, First Doctor is slated to begin filming in the second half of this year and will stream on Netflix.
