Actor Kim Da-mi is reportedly gearing up for a long-awaited return to action, with industry chatter hinting at a bold new role.
On the 3rd, a MyDaily exclusive reported that Kim Da-mi will star in the drama A Killer Paradox.
A Killer Paradox is an “innocent noir” set in the 1970s–1980s. It follows a woman whose sole life goal was to be the perfect wife and mother, but who takes an unexpected job to survive outside her sheltered bubble—setting off a shocking chain of events.
After joining a suspicious company that claims to champion women’s careers, she discovers a startling talent that clashes with the quiet life she led as an obedient daughter and devoted wife: the ability to eliminate people without a sound or trace.
According to reports, Kim Da-mi will play Go Dal-bun, a woman who once lived as an accommodating wife but jumps into a dubious job market after a divorce to win back her young daughter.
Kim previously tackled an ’80s period piece with A Hundred Memories and delivered fierce action in the breakout film The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion. Naturally, expectations are soaring for the new action she’ll unveil in this project.
As casting buzz spread, reactions poured in: “Her face doesn’t scream action, but she’s so good at it,” “The genre feels fresh,” “That title is adorable,” and “If it’s Kim Da-mi doing action, I’m watching.”
Meanwhile, A Killer Paradox brings together creator Kang Eun-kyung of Dr. Romantic and Gyeongseong Creature, with scripts by Joo Hwa-mi of The Atypical Family. Director Lee Jung-hum of Inspector Koo and Our Movie will helm the series—fueling hype for the synergy between the writers, director, and star.
