Comedian Kyung-kyu Lee and his daughter Ye-rim Lee had a candid conversation about whether to have kids.
On the 2nd, a video on Lee’s YouTube channel showed the two visiting a baby products store. The visit was for Lee to get a head start on childcare knowledge ahead of the tvN STORY variety show Yuga Intern. Naturally, the talk shifted to having kids, and Lee Ye-rim opened up: "I’m not really a baby person, so I’m debating whether to give birth," she confessed.
Lee Ye-rim added, "Even raising a dog makes me feel a strong sense of responsibility, and I think a child comes with far more," saying, "This isn’t something you can decide lightly." She continued, "You should first have the genuine desire to have a baby, and I don’t have that certainty yet."
Lee Kyung-kyu respected his daughter’s perspective. He made his stance clear: "I have no intention of pressuring you. It’s your life." Still, he subtly revealed his wish to be a granddad, saying, "I’m confident I can help raise the child." He also carefully shared his view: "If you’re married, I think it’s better to have a child."
In response, Lee Ye-rim said, "I also feel like I might regret it later if I don’t have kids," revealing her mixed feelings. It was a moment that naturally highlighted the generational gap between parents and children.
Meanwhile, Lee Ye-rim married footballer Young-chan Kim in 2021.
