Shocking shake-up: Ten of NCT and WayV is leaving SM Entertainment, sparking major buzz just days before his contract officially ends.
On April 6, SM Entertainment announced that, after in-depth discussions about Ten’s future, his exclusive contract will conclude on April 8.
Ten debuted in 2016 as part of NCT’s unit NCT U and later promoted with WayV and the SM “Avengers” boy group SuperM.
SM stated it will work to coordinate Ten’s participation in WayV and NCT activities moving forward, adding, “We are grateful to Ten, who has shown outstanding talent not only in group promotions but also as a solo artist since debut, and we sincerely support his new beginning.” The company also said it will continue to fully support WayV members’ activities.
Meanwhile, as NCT marks its 10th debut anniversary this year, the group is undergoing changes — including core member Mark’s departure from SM and the team.
