Travel creator KwakTube issued a direct apology over a postpartum care center sponsorship controversy and announced he will donate 30 million won to support single mothers.

On the 10th, KwakTube posted a statement on his YouTube channel community, saying, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern over the recent controversy related to using a postpartum care center," and bowed his head. He explained, "After my spouse gave birth, the center provided us with a room upgrade and some complimentary services."

He continued, "Given that I am the family member of a public official, I should have been more cautious," adding, "Based on legal counsel, we confirmed that the sponsorship in question was a private agreement between the center and an individual and is unrelated to my spouse's official duties." He also admitted, "Regardless of legal judgments, I deeply reflect on my lack of consideration."

The controversy began on April 1 when KwakTube uploaded a review of the postpartum care center on Instagram and labeled it as a "sponsorship." After the label was deleted, suspicions grew—especially because his spouse is a public official—raising the possibility of violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act. In response, his agency SM C&C clarified that "only a room upgrade was provided, not a full sponsorship."

Following the backlash, KwakTube said he paid the center the full difference in value covered by the sponsorship. He added, "This incident made me look back on myself," and stated, "I will donate 30 million won to support single mothers." He emphasized, "From now on, I will consider not only legal standards but also my social responsibility."

Meanwhile, KwakTube married his public official partner last October and welcomed a son last month.
