Disney+ is stealing the spotlight from Netflix — all thanks to IU and Byeon Woo-seok leading the hit drama Perfect Crown.
According to OTT ranking tracker FlixPatrol on the 14th, the series ranked No. 4 globally on Disney+ Top 10 TV Shows as of the previous day. It hit No. 1 in South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore; No. 2 in Brazil; No. 4 in Mexico; No. 5 in Canada and Australia; and No. 6 in the United States — breaking into the Top 10 in a total of 44 countries and regions and proving its worldwide buzz.
The show also took No. 1 in TV-OTT drama buzz for the second week of April 2026 in FUNdex, the content competitiveness index by analytics firm Good Data Corporation. Notably, it ranked No. 1 in VON (Voice of Netizen/community reaction), social media, and news, and No. 2 in video-related metrics.
In Korea, Netflix titles usually dominate over Disney+, but this week is the exception. Last week, no Korean titles appeared in either the Top 10 TV Shows or Films on the global charts.
The No. 1 film was the slasher Thrash, while the No. 1 TV show was the documentary Trust Me: The False Prophet.
Right now, the only Korean title riding high across global OTT charts is Perfect Crown. Set against a unique constitutional monarchy backdrop, the MBC Fri–Sat drama Perfect Crown, starring IU and Byeon Woo-seok, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. and is available to stream on Disney+.
