Girls’ Generation member Kwon Yuri just revealed her deep love for Jeju—and a bold new venture that’s turning heads.

On April 16, the Stayfolio YouTube channel featured Yuri and musician Lee Sang-soon sharing candid stories about life on Jeju. Splitting her time between Seoul and the island, Yuri admitted, “In the past, I’d go to Jeju when I had no work. These days, it feels like I only come to Seoul when I have work,” signaling a complete lifestyle shift.

She added, “I often book flights the day of. Even when I have a return ticket, I cancel it and stay an extra day—and before I know it, three to four weeks have flown by,” revealing just how attached she’s become to Jeju. Reflecting on the emotional ups and downs of moving between the two cities, Yuri said, “At first, I felt torn between two lives, but now I’m finding my balance.”

Yuri also shared her experiences with different accommodations. “I love stays with a more exotic vibe,” she said, even offering personal recommendations. But she kept it real, adding, “One place was really expensive, and the layout was so inconvenient I almost tripped. Pretty isn’t enough.”

What really grabbed attention was her new plan on Jeju. “I’m currently preparing a vacant-home revitalization project,” Yuri revealed. “I want to transform underused houses in Jeju into spaces where people can actually stay,” she said, drawing major interest.

Yuri also appeared the same day on MBC FM4U’s Wanbyeokhan Haru Lee Sang-soonimnida. When Lee described her on air as “a junior who shares many similarities with my wife,” Yuri responded, “I’ve been deeply influenced by her. I’ve learned a lot both directly and just by watching,” highlighting their special connection.

Balancing a hectic Seoul schedule with a slower-paced Jeju life, Yuri is carving out her own rhythm—while teasing a project that goes beyond a simple island getaway and reimagines space itself.
