Comedian Lee Kyung-kyu (66) is suddenly at the center of a health scare, with fans alarmed over his condition after a recent YouTube upload.

On May 7, a video titled "Half the nation has diabetes? The truth about blood sugar uncovered by Lee Kyung-kyu, who underwent surgery due to diabetes complications" was posted on Lee’s YouTube channel. In the video, Dr. Lee Hye-min, who runs the channel Diabetes School, appeared to discuss the dangers of diabetes and how to manage blood sugar.

Having previously experienced symptoms of a myocardial infarction, Lee mentioned that he received a stent procedure and confessed, "The war with diabetes has already begun. There’s no quality of life. There’s nothing I can eat," revealing the struggle of strict eating restrictions.

Lee also opened up about his past health metrics. He said, "My HbA1c once peaked at 6.8, but I brought it down to 5.8 by cutting out staples and managing my diet." He added, "Over a decade ago, one of my arteries was blocked, so I had a stent placed," and explained, "They say blood sugar spikes can lead to blood clots."

After the video dropped, some viewers speculated about a possible brain-related condition, claiming his "pronunciation seemed slurred and his facial expressions looked different," fueling further concern about his health.

In response, Lee’s side stated, "His stamina has dipped lately, and it was an issue with his condition during that shoot," adding, "He’s doing fine now."
