Actor Namgoong Min is set to appear on the KBS2 variety show Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant.
On the July 2 broadcast of Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, Chef Lee Yeon-bok unveils a brand-new special project — and the hype is real, with the ever-reliable scene-stealer Namgoong Min joining in.
The pre-recorded segment (VCR) shows Lee Yeon-bok stepping into an unfamiliar new space. The master of Chinese cuisine with 55 years of experience teases, "Welcome. This is the only 'bokdeokbang' in Korea," sparking curiosity. He adds, "We spent a lot of money on this space," dialing up the intrigue around the secret project.
As viewers wonder whether Lee has opened a new shop, Namgoong Min becomes the first guest to visit. After entering Lee’s mysterious bokdeokbang — an old-school real estate office concept — Namgoong Min reportedly found himself flustered by an unexpected situation right from the start of filming. Known for his intense, charismatic roles, all eyes are on what surprising sides he’ll reveal in a variety setting.
Joining the fun at the bokdeokbang is breakout variety star Kim Won-hoon. As Lee’s right-hand man, Kim couldn’t hide his excitement upon seeing Namgoong Min, exclaiming, "It’s our first time meeting, but you’re seriously handsome." Namgoong Min shyly laughed at Kim’s unfiltered reaction, and the two reportedly showed such effortless chemistry that it was hard to believe they had just met.
Interest is even higher as Namgoong Min recently shared that his wife, Jin A-reum, is pregnant, making him a soon-to-be dad. The couple first met as director and actor on the 2015 film Light My Pie, which Namgoong Min directed, and later began dating. After seven years together, they married in October 2022, and recently received a wave of congratulations after announcing their pregnancy four years into marriage.
Namgoong Min is also set to return to the small screen with the KBS2 drama The Husband, premiering on July 4. With a new drama just days away, his early meet-cute with viewers on a cooking variety show only heightens anticipation for what charms he’ll bring.
