Actor Heo Nam-jun had viewers cracking up as he revealed unexpected, laugh-out-loud childhood stories about his twin brother — from never being called "hyung" to wearing his younger twin’s hand-me-downs.
On the 19th, web variety show Salon Drip featured the two leads of the drama Brave New World, Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun, who shared a range of behind-the-scenes stories. During the video, host Jang Do-yeon asked about Heo’s twin, and he responded with a refreshingly honest — and surprising — reality.
"When people hear 'twins,' the question I get the most is, 'Do you look alike?' In our case, we don’t look alike at all," Heo said. "My brother is taller and bigger than me, and his skin tone is darker."
Even their dynamic flipped the usual older-younger roles. "I’m the older one, but my brother has never called me 'hyung.' Since we were kids, he just called me 'hey,'" Heo revealed, making everyone laugh. He added, "When we visited our grandparents, the adults were strict about honorifics, so sometimes my brother just didn’t call me anything at all."
Heo also admitted he didn’t really play the "big brother" role while growing up. "My brother developed faster than I did. I was the older one in name only — basically, I lived like the younger sibling," he said. "He was bigger, so I even wore clothes handed down from him," drawing attention.
At school, his brother also led in popularity. "He was way more popular than me. But I wasn’t jealous," Heo confessed candidly. "I was never really popular."
From totally different looks to a reversed pecking order — and all the hilarious growing-up anecdotes — Heo’s twin stories gave fans something new to enjoy.
