Global K-snapp lit up as news broke that singer Psy (real name Park Jae-sang) has been referred to prosecutors.

According to MBC on June 2, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office received the case from police the previous day and is investigating four people — including Psy, a professor at a university hospital in Seoul, and a manager — on suspicion of violating the Medical Service Act.

Psy is suspected of obtaining prescriptions for psychotropic medication from a university hospital in Seoul between 2022 and last year without in-person consultations, and having a third party, including his manager, pick up the drugs on his behalf.

During the police probe, Psy’s agency P NATION addressed the allegations, stating, "It is undeniably a mistake and our oversight that prescription sleeping pills — which are prescription-only medicines — were collected by a proxy. We apologize for causing concern." Regarding the referral to prosecutors, the agency added that they "will actively cooperate with the investigation."

Debuting in 2001, Psy now heads P NATION, home to artists such as Crush, Heize, TNX, Hwasa, and BABYDONKRAZY.

Meanwhile, Psy will meet fans this summer through his signature water-splashing concert brand 'Summer Swag' (Heumbbeok Show). Kicking off in Uijeongbu on the 27th of this month, the tour will hit Daegu, Incheon, Seoul, Wonju, Suwon, Gwangju, Busan, and Daejeon.
