PD Na Young-seok’s YouTube channel channel fullmoon has apologized after a shocking Chinese subtitle controversy over how Taiwan was labeled.

On June 3, channel fullmoon posted an official statement on its social media, saying, "We sincerely apologize to viewers who felt discomfort or were hurt due to the way Taiwan was labeled during the subtitle translation process."

The controversy erupted in episode 2 of The God of Communication Caterers: SVT Retreat, released on May 29. While PD Na Young-seok and SEVENTEEN were eating and mentioned Taiwan, the Chinese subtitles reportedly labeled it as "overseas," sparking criticism from some viewers.

The channel explained that they corrected the subtitles as soon as they confirmed the issue. They added, "We then conducted a comprehensive review to check if other languages or expressions had problems and to identify where the process went wrong. We also deeply apologize for the delay in our apology."

They continued, "Although the issue originated from a translation mistake, we take full responsibility for failing to fix it in the final quality check stage."

In closing, the channel fullmoon team said, "We will strengthen our translation and subtitle review procedures to ensure a similar issue never happens again."

Meanwhile, channel fullmoon is a YouTube channel operated by Egg Is Coming, featuring various web variety shows led by PD Na Young-seok.
