The film David has finalized its Korean dubbing cast, sparking massive anticipation.
David set the biggest opening ever for a faith-based animated film at the North American box office, surpassing the record of King of Kings. It follows David’s journey from his mother’s song to his fateful showdown with the giant Goliath. The project features a star-studded lineup including Park Bo-gum, Jang Gwang, Cha Ji-yeon, Song Jun-seok, and Si Young-jun.
Actor Park Bo-gum voices the protagonist, David. Park said, "I deeply related to David’s boldness and message of hope. I hope audiences remember it as a film that passes on the courage to try and the perseverance to see things through." With his signature clear yet powerful tone, he is set to portray David’s innocence and decisive moments with nuance—marking his first-ever challenge in animation dubbing.
Jang Gwang, known for his rich voice and warm charisma across both voice acting and acting, takes on the role of the prophet Samuel, who sets David on the path to kingship. Musical star Cha Ji-yeon joins as Nitzevet, David’s mother who instills him with courage and faith.
Park Bo-gum is also gearing up for the release of the film Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land later this year. In it, he plays Prince Anpyeong, acting opposite Kim Nam-gil as Grand Prince Suyang.
Meanwhile, David is slated to open nationwide in South Korea on July 15.
