Actor Hong Min-gi instantly stole viewers’ attention, serving the textbook definition of a chic yet magnetic so-called “good‑vibes guy.”
On the 5th, the ENA Monday–Tuesday drama Doctor on the Edge unveiled still cuts highlighting Hong Min-gi’s dazzling, youthfully handsome visuals.
In the series, Hong Min-gi plays Hyun Chi-yeon, an ultra-elite public health doctor born into a long line of physicians, equipped with perfect looks and a razor-sharp mind.
In Episodes 1 and 2, which aired on the 1st and 2nd, Hyun Chi-yeon made a striking entrance with an unrivaled aura, leaving a powerful first impression. As the owner of the sports car tearing through the notorious island of Pyeondongdo, he first snatched attention, then stepped out of the dorm bathroom right after a shower, leading to a breath-stopping first encounter with fellow public health doctor Do Ji-ui (played by Lee Jae-wook). In this scene, Hong Min-gi revealed a sculpted physique and radiated swoon-worthy visuals; even in front of a flustered Ji-ui, he introduced himself with unwavering confidence, cementing a commanding presence.
Later, when Do Ji-ui and nurse Yuk Ha-ri (Shin Ye-eun) got lost late at night in the mountains during a house call, Hyun Chi-yeon rode in on a quad bike like a savior, grabbing attention again. In a hilariously deadpan move, he coolly left Ji-ui behind and took only Ha-ri, drawing unexpected laughs. While riding, Hyun Chi-yeon casually asked Ha-ri, "Do you really not remember me?" A subsequent flashback hinted at a hidden connection between the two, sending curiosity for the next episodes soaring.
After the broadcast, online communities and social media lit up with reactions: "His tsundere charm is insane," "His visual chemistry with Shin Ye-eun is so good," "This is the definition of a true good‑vibes guy," and "He’s the very embodiment of a cool, icy heartthrob."
Meanwhile, the medical human romance Doctor on the Edge, which follows public health doctor Do Ji-ui—assigned to the much-avoided island of Pyeondongdo—and the secretive nurse Yuk Ha-ri as they navigate chaotic ups and downs, airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. and is also available on Genie TV and Disney+.
