Actor Ahn Bo-hyun is making a small-screen comeback with new partner Jung Eun-chae.
On the 29th, SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama Flex X Cop 2 unveiled photos from its script reading, capturing the cast’s blazing energy.
The series follows third-generation chaebol-turned-detective Jin I-su (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), who treats money and connections like cheat codes, and veteran detective Joo Hye-ra (Jung Eun-chae) as they team up to take down increasingly crafty criminals in a 'FLEX' joint task-force investigation.
The first season peaked at an impressive 11% viewership and quickly locked in a Season 2 order right after the finale, proving its distinct concept and franchise potential. After two years of preparation, this drama leads SBS’s 2026 seasonal lineup as director Kim Jae-hong and writer Kim Bada reunite, with Ahn Bo-hyun and Jung Eun-chae set to deliver even stronger, no-nonsense 'cleanup' chemistry.
The script reading brought together director Kim Jae-hong, writer Kim Bada, and main cast members including Ahn Bo-hyun, Jung Eun-chae, Kang Sang-jun, Kim Shin-bi, Jung Ga-hee, and Kim Myung-soo. Director Kim Jae-hong said, "It’s deeply moving and meaningful to be producing Flex X Cop 2," while Ahn Bo-hyun promised, "We’ll create a fun, collaborative set so that even the newcomers can lock into the rhythm right away."
Once the reading kicked off, the actors dove into bigger cases and a grander scale, turning up the heat. Ahn Bo-hyun amplified Jin I-su’s charm with a breezy wit, while Jung Eun-chae seamlessly blended into the team, embodying a character with fierce charisma and a killer competitive streak. Their teamwork is already shaping up to be another major hook.
The production team shared, "The seasoned chemistry of the original members and the fresh energy of the new cast clicked perfectly from day one. Expect a more powerful scale, gripping storytelling, and electrifying character play that will deliver standout fun to living rooms everywhere."
Meanwhile, Flex X Cop 2 premieres on August 7 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will also be available to stream on Disney+.
