ADOR and former NewJeans member Danielle, along with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, are set to clash in court over a damages lawsuit worth tens of billions of won.

Civil Division 31 of the Seoul Central District Court is scheduled on the 2nd to hold the third hearing in ADOR’s lawsuit against Danielle and former CEO Min.

Previously, ADOR notified Danielle of a contract termination, alleging she violated her exclusive contract, and filed a claim for damages. The initial claim of approximately 43.1 billion KRW was later adjusted to about 33.1 billion KRW.

ADOR argues, "Unlike the other members, Danielle engaged in a serious, independently conducted breach that led to the contract’s termination." Danielle’s side counters, "Danielle explored other activity options because she was confident it would constitute a lawful contract termination," adding that the underlying issue applies to all NewJeans members and that it is unfair to single Danielle out for any allegedly illegal, unilateral act. Danielle’s camp also claims ADOR is blocking her entertainment activities, resulting in a halt to her career, keeping the legal battle heated.

Meanwhile, NewJeans, who debuted in July 2022, has been embroiled in an exclusive contract dispute with ADOR since November 2024. Some members later returned to ADOR, but Danielle received a notice of termination.
