In a headline-grabbing move, singer Lee Mujin is putting his dispute with his former agency behind him and making a fresh start.
On the 10th, comprehensive entertainment company Mound Media announced it has signed an exclusive contract with Lee Mujin under a newly launched in-house label. Lee will be the first artist to join the yet-unnamed label. The label name and BI (Brand Identity) will be revealed later.
The label said, "We are very pleased to work with Lee Mujin," adding, "We will spare no effort to fully support him so he can freely showcase his distinctive musical color going forward."
Mound Media operates a range of labels, including Mareum-mo, home to Lee Seung-yoon; Han Roro's Authentic; Magic Strawberry Sound, which includes artists like Soyou and Junggigo; and MOM Entertainment, represented by married duo Eun Ga-eun and Park Hyun-ho.
Debuting in 2018, Lee Mujin has released multiple hit songs and built a distinct musical identity.
Previously, Lee signed an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment in 2022, but he recently filed for an injunction to suspend the contract over unpaid settlements. His side claimed he had not received settlements from Q2 2023 through Q1 2024, alleging the unpaid amount totals about 2.1 billion KRW.
