Former SBS announcer Kim Da-young candidly opened up about why she decided to marry her husband, Bae Sung-jae.

On the 18th, through her YouTube channel, Kim shared her personal thoughts on love and marriage. "My husband often asks, 'What was the moment you knew you wanted to marry me?'" she said, adding, "Honestly, there wasn't one specific moment."

She went on to talk about insecurities she had carried for a long time: "I'm pretty hard on myself, so there weren't many things I liked about me," she admitted. She continued, "My husband is the person who pointed out the flaws I couldn't love and reframed them as strengths." More than simple compliments, he would explain specifically why something was lovable, and "that's when I felt certain I should be with him," she added.

She also shared the moment it clicked for her husband. According to Kim, Bae described himself as someone who had gone through life without feeling particularly happy or unhappy—"a default-mode person" with almost no mood swings. But after meeting Kim, he confessed that he truly felt happiness as a real emotion for the first time. However, as that happiness deepened, a sense of responsibility to "protect this feeling" also emerged, leaving him with a mix of emotions.

Kim described their relationship as two people filling each other's gaps and naturally fitting together. "More than fireworks-level passion or jealousy, what comes to mind now is calm and stability," she said. "I think the deep love a married couple builds is staying by each other's side for a long time to make up for what's lacking."

"It's a little embarrassing to say all this when we've only been married for half a year, but that's how I feel right now," Kim added with a smile.

Meanwhile, Kim Da-young married Bae Sung-jae, who is 14 years her senior, last May after two years of dating.
