In a press release on the 13th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said it will mobilize as many members of its special operations unit as possible to conduct comprehensive pre-event safety sweeps and inspections across the entire venue.
Police warned, "If bomb threats or other public intimidation disrupt the event or waste police resources, we will respond firmly under a principle of arrest and detention," vowing to track offenders down and take them into custody. They also emphasized that civil damages will be pursued.
To prevent potential vehicle-ramming attacks, police plan to strictly control vehicle access by setting up police buses and water-filled barricades on roads near the venue.
