The drama that went viral for the mentor-mentee lawyer chemistry between actors Jin-wook Lee and Chae-yeon Jung is reportedly in talks for a Season 2.

On April 1, according to Xportsnews, JTBC’s weekend K-Drama Esquire: Lawyers Dreaming of Becoming Lawyers (hereafter 'Esquire') is expected to return with a new season. In response, producer SLL stated, "We are in the discussion stage for Season 2, and no specific schedule or casting details have been finalized yet."

'Esquire' centers on rookie attorney Kang Hyo-min (played by Chae-yeon Jung) at the law firm Yullim and a cold but brilliant partner attorney, Yoon Seok-hoon (played by Jin-wook Lee), unfolding a variety of courtroom episodes. By portraying realistic cases with steady performances—and delicately capturing love and the scars born from relationships through the litigation team’s lens—the series earned strong viewer empathy.

Once the news broke, online communities and social media lit up with split reactions—ranging from "Do we really need Season 2?" to "I want to watch it again"—fueling heated interest.

All eyes are now on whether the much-debated 'Esquire' Season 2—already stirring discussion before production—will actually make its comeback to the small screen.
