According to industry sources on the 2nd, for the new drama Romance 101, Hwang In Yeop has been offered the male lead Na Yu-yeon and is reportedly reviewing the offer positively, while News1 reports that Cho Yi Hyun will star as the female lead Jung Bareum.
Romance 101 is adapted from the popular webtoon by creator Namsu. It’s a campus romance that follows Jung Bareum, a model student who lives by careful plans but is clueless about love, as she takes a brave leap into dating and grows through the experience. The original series gained massive popularity at home and abroad, with constant calls for a live-action remake.
Hwang In Yeop is said to be in talks to play the warm, considerate “Yu-yeon sunbae” (upperclassman) Na Yu-yeon, showcasing his gentle charm. Cho Yi Hyun is expected to portray the diligent, methodical college student Jung Bareum, capturing the thrills and growing pains of youth.
