Former WINNER member Nam Tae-hyun has been sentenced to prison for driving under the influence.

On the 9th, the 11th Criminal Division (single-judge) of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Nam, who was indicted for violating the Road Traffic Act, to one year in prison and a fine of 1 million won. The court stressed, "At the time of the crime, he was driving at 182 km/h on Gangbyeonbuk-ro, skidding across to the fourth lane and crashing into a retaining wall outside the fourth lane, which created an extremely high risk to road safety and warrants stern punishment."

The court also pointed out that "he committed this offense while under a suspended sentence for violating the Narcotics Control Act, making him highly blameworthy." However, it did not take him into custody in court, noting there was "no risk of evidence destruction or flight."

Nam's blood alcohol concentration at the time was measured at 0.122%, a level that results in license revocation.

Separately, in January 2024, Nam received a one-year prison term suspended for two years for methamphetamine use.
