Actress Jeon So-min openly shared her unfiltered thoughts on having children.
On comedian Ji Seokjin’s YouTube channel, the Gwangju, Gyeonggi installment of the variety show Seoksam Play Season 1 was recently released. In the video, Ji Seokjin, Lee Sang-yeob, Jeon So-min, and Lee Mi-joo set off on a trip, delivering plenty of laughs.
While riding in the car, the conversation naturally shifted to marriage and kids. When Ji Seokjin asked if everyone had eaten breakfast, Lee Sang-yeob revealed his affection by saying, "My wife made me pumpkin porridge." Ji responded, "If you have a baby, they’d be so cute," and asked about his plans for children. Lee replied, "I want a daughter," hinting at his excitement.
The spotlight then turned to Jeon So-min. When Ji asked, "If you get married, are you thinking one son and one daughter?" Jeon paused briefly before drawing a firm line: "Not me—I’m out." She added, "I just want the two of us to live happily. I’m going to end the family line," grabbing attention.
As those around her reacted with surprise, Jeon offered a practical reason. "I’m 41—when would I give birth, and when would I raise them?" she said, candidly sharing her concerns. Still, regarding a potential difference of opinion with a future spouse, she left room for discussion: "We’d have to talk it through."
Amid a landscape of diverse views on marriage and childbirth, Jeon’s calm yet realistic confession is striking a chord with viewers.
