Red Velvet member Irene has drawn attention following her encore performance after winning first place on a music show.
On April 10, KBS2’s 'Music Bank' aired its latest episode, where Irene took first place with her solo track 'Biggest Fan', marking the first solo music show win by a Red Velvet member.
The win gained further attention as she competed against BTS, who recently made their comeback.
However, her encore stage performance that followed sparked mixed reactions. Some viewers pointed out issues with pitch, and the clip quickly spread online.
Criticism included comments such as, “None of the notes are on pitch” and “Her live skills are disappointing.” Others defended her, noting that encore stages are typically performed without backing vocals, making live singing more exposed.
Irene debuted with Red Velvet in 2014. She began her solo career in 2024 with the mini album 'Like a Flower' and released her first full-length album, 'Biggest Fan,' on March 30.
