Shocking and deeply moving — actress and former miss A member Suzy quietly stood by Jo Hyun Ah through her mother’s funeral, a heartfelt display of loyalty and care that is now going viral.
On April 20, the web variety show Zzanbro featured Urban Zakapa members Jo Hyun Ah and Kwon Soon-il, who opened up about their long friendship and life stories.
During the conversation, Jo Hyun Ah recalled the painful time six years ago when she lost her mother — and expressed immense gratitude to Suzy. "My mom battled illness for nine months, so I had prepared myself to some extent," Jo Hyun Ah said. "After drinks with Suzy, I got an urgent call from my sister on my way home and rushed over right away."
She then shared how Suzy stayed by her side throughout the entire funeral, her eyes welling up as she spoke. "Suzy came to the mourning hall to pay her respects and stayed for all three days," she said. "She sat next to me the whole time, just nibbling on dried squid." Many mourners recognized Suzy and were surprised, but she didn’t mind — she quietly remained with the bereaved family. "It’s not easy to stay through something like that to the very end, but she even came to the crematorium and followed us to the burial site," Jo Hyun Ah added.
There was an even more touching moment. "At the gravesite, Suzy stepped forward first and said, 'Ma’am, I’ll make sure to take good care of her,'" Jo Hyun Ah revealed. "Hearing that was such a huge comfort to me." It wasn’t just a visit — it was a sincere act that soothed the hearts of those left behind.
Host Shin Dong-yup deeply empathized as well. "It’s something you rarely witness these days," he said. "For someone who’s lost a parent, that must have been incredibly reassuring and powerful."
