IVE member Gaeul has been officially tapped as a partner for the nationwide 'Reading Korea 2026' campaign, recognized for her steady love of books. Stepping beyond her idol image on stage to become the new face of reading culture, she’s already drawing major attention.

On the 21st, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that Gaeul was selected as a partner for the national reading promotion project, the 'Reading Korea 2026' campaign. The initiative aims to help people naturally encounter books in their daily lives and build lasting reading habits.

Gaeul has long been known in the entertainment industry as a prominent book lover, repeatedly expressing her affection for reading. Beyond appearing in various book-related content, she has recently been sharing steady, book-themed videos on her personal YouTube channel — from mini book fair visits and trips to secondhand bookstores to reviews of self-improvement titles.

Through this campaign, Gaeul plans to use social media and diverse content to share the value of reading and the simple joy it brings in a more approachable way. The goal is to spread the idea that reading isn’t difficult or heavy — it’s a culture anyone can easily enjoy.

Through her agency, Gaeul said, "I’m so happy and honored to join such a meaningful campaign out of my love for books," adding, "I want to share the joy and special experiences I’ve felt through reading with even more people." She continued, "I’ll think hard about which activities and content can best convey the value of reading to make this a meaningful campaign," and added, "I’ll also continue to share related content on my channel, so please look forward to it."

Her first official activities have also been teased. On April 23, in celebration of World Book Day, Gaeul will attend the 'Reading Korea' proclamation ceremony, where she’ll introduce her reading tastes and host a mini book talk centered on reading.
