Actors IU and Lee Yeon are turning heads with a tight-knit on-and-off-screen "womance" that’s drawing major buzz.
In MBC’s Friday–Saturday drama Perfect Crown, which premiered on the 10th, the duo’s standout chemistry is pulling viewers deeper into the story.
IU plays Castle Beauty CEO Sung Hee-joo, while Lee Yeon takes on the role of Do Hye-jung, her rock-solid right hand and chief secretary. On screen, Hee-joo opens up only to Hye-jung and leans on her, portraying a bond that goes far beyond a simple boss–assistant relationship.
Their dazzling chemistry continues off set. In a recent pictorial interview, IU gushed about Lee Yeon, saying, "When we spend time together, I feel carefree and childlike." Lee Yeon replied, "Having Ji-eun sunbae on set gives me so much strength," showing heartwarming camaraderie. The two even took a trip to Jeju together outside of filming, delighting fans as their real-life outings made the rounds online.
