TWICE has wrapped their North America tour in stunning fashion, writing a new chapter for K-pop girl groups with record-breaking success.
On the 24th, JYP Entertainment announced that TWICE’s world tour 'THIS IS FOR' held 35 shows across 20 cities in North America, drawing approximately 550,000 attendees.
With this, TWICE now holds the all-time record for the most concertgoers amassed by a K-pop girl group in North America. Initially slated for 22 shows, overwhelming local demand added 13 more, bringing the total to 35.
Closing out the leg in Austin, TWICE told fans, "We’re heading into late April now, and we started our North America tour in January, performing over 30 shows. Hearing our ONCE (official fandom) say we did great really makes it sink in that it’s the end. Thank you to every fan who came to see TWICE."
Meanwhile, after completing the North America tour, TWICE is set to become the first overseas act to stage a solo concert at Tokyo National Stadium in Japan. The venue holds up to 80,000 per show, and TWICE will meet Japanese fans across three dates on the 25th, 26th, and 28th.
