Shocking split: SM Entertainment and former NCT member Lucas have officially parted ways. With his exclusive contract ending, Lucas is gearing up for a fresh start.
On April 24, SM Entertainment announced via fan community platform Weverse, "Our exclusive contract with Lucas ended as of April 24." They added, "We cherish the time we've spent together since his trainee days and after debut," and said, "We will support Lucas in the new challenges he pursues going forward."
Hong Kong–born Lucas debuted in 2018 as part of NCT U, later earning widespread popularity through global project groups WayV and SuperM. He quickly expanded his fandom with powerful performances and standout visuals.
However, in 2021, allegations about his personal life surfaced, leading him to halt all activities. After a long hiatus, Lucas left NCT and WayV in 2023 to pursue a solo path.
In 2024, he released his first solo single 'Renegade', but with this contract termination, he now faces another major turning point.
All eyes are on Lucas's next move after leaving SM Entertainment.
