Red Velvet member Wendy just raised hopes for a full-group comeback, directly hinting at the possibility and sending fans into overdrive.
Appearing on the April 25 broadcast of JTBC’s variety show Knowing Bros, Wendy showed off both her razor-sharp wit and powerhouse vocals. On the show, she shared the backstory behind her nickname, the ‘Shine On Me girl,’ which she earned for flawlessly nailing the high note part ‘Shine On Me’ during promotions for Red Velvet’s debut track ‘Happiness.’
The biggest buzz came from her mention of a full-group return. Wendy said, "I think there will be good news this year," adding, "Fans have been waiting for it." When Lee Soo-geun asked, "Are you promising it’s happening?" Wendy didn’t hesitate: "I promise," she replied, sending the studio into a frenzy.
Right now, Red Velvet’s Irene, Seulgi, Joy, Yeri, and Wendy are all actively pursuing solo endeavors across music, acting, variety, and musicals. If their long-awaited return as a complete group becomes reality, it’s expected to dominate headlines.
Meanwhile, Wendy will join ENA’s variety program THE SCOUT: STARS REBORN as a master, helping contestants grow, with the show premiering on the 8th of next month.
