Actress Lim Ji-yeon is set to unleash a shocking new role that may surpass her infamous Park Yeon-jin from The Glory.
On the 27th, SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama Brave New World dropped stills of Lim Ji-yeon as Shin Seori.
Brave New World follows nameless actress Shin Seori (played by Lim Ji-yeon), who turns vicious after being possessed by the spirit of a legendary Joseon-era villainess, and chaebol heir Cha Segye (played by Heo Nam-joon), a ruthless "monster born of capitalism."
In the released stills, Shin Seori sheds her hanbok and fully transforms into a modern woman. In one striking moment, she hurls a laundry bat at an assailant without hesitation, radiating the fearless energy of a true Joseon-era anti-heroine. Lim Ji-yeon’s ahead-of-her-time villainess adopts a survivalist grit, promising cathartic takedowns and a hilariously bold crash course in adapting to contemporary life.
Netizens reacted, saying, "This character is insanely strong," "Is this the second coming of Yeon-jin?" and "I’m already excited."
Meanwhile, the 14-episode Brave New World premieres Friday, May 8 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS and will also be available on Netflix.
