Multiple K-pop acts have been nominated at the American Music Awards (AMA), including BTS, CatsEye, and the film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters'.
According to the nominations announced on April 14 (local time), BTS received three nominations: "Artist of the Year," "Song of the Summer," and "Best Male K-Pop Artist."
BTS, who previously won "Artist of the Year" in 2021, will compete with artists such as Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars.
In the "Song of the Summer" category, BTS was nominated with "SWIM," the title track from their fifth full-length album 'ARIRANG.' BLACKPINK’s Jennie was also nominated in the same category for a remix of "Dracula," a collaboration with Tame Impala.
Global group CatsEye received three nominations: "New Artist of the Year," "Best Music Video," and "Breakthrough Pop Artist."
The Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' was nominated for "Best Soundtrack." The film’s virtual group Huntrix also received nominations, including "Song of the Year," "Best Pop Song," and "Best Vocal Performance" for "Golden."
The 2026 American Music Awards will take place on May 25 (local time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.
