Actor Park Bo-young is going viral after ditching her signature sweetheart image for a shocking makeover to promote Disney+'s series Gold Land.
It all kicked off on May 1 when a new episode of Yang Se-chan's character mukbang series Momeok TV dropped on YouTube channel SsookSsook. The day's guests were Park Bo-young and Lee Kwang-soo, who joined specifically to promote Gold Land.
The collab happened after Lee Kwang-soo pitched the idea to Yang Se-chan, promising, "If the content continues, I'll come on with Park Bo-young." True to his word, both stars fully committed to the goofy mukbang concept—right down to the costumes.
On camera, Park Bo-young appeared with a messy wig, thick-rimmed glasses, and even a fake mustache—nothing like her usual lovable look. Introducing herself with, "This isn't Park Bo-young. I'm Park Jiri," she nailed an over-the-top alter-ego performance. Lee Kwang-soo showed up in a matching get-up, and together with Yang Se-chan they dove into a mukbang of tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and gimbap (seaweed rice rolls).
Park's all-in attitude stole the show. She didn't stop at the costume—she threw herself into character with bold reactions and wild mukbang antics. When Lee Kwang-soo couldn't hold back a guilty laugh watching her, Park quipped, "If you agreed to be here, do your best. Why are you looking at me like that?" sending the set into laughter.
Adding to the chaos, Yoo Jae-suk briefly popped in on his way out of work. The trio playfully shooed him off with, "Sir, please go," and "Please, just leave," while Yoo watched and chuckled, saying, "This is fun," sparking even more laughs.
After the video dropped, fans reacted hotly: "If Park Bo-young works that hard, what's my excuse?", "Can't believe Park Bo-young let herself look this goofy," "Even in costume, she's adorable," "Her promo grind is next level," and "Lee Kwang-soo feeling sorry is hilarious."
Meanwhile, Park Bo-young and Lee Kwang-soo star in Disney+'s original series Gold Land, a story of desire and betrayal surrounding 150 billion won worth of gold bars. Park plays Kim Hee-joo, showcasing a fresh acting transformation.
