BIGBANG member Daesung laid bare his honest thoughts about marriage and the future, revealing a surprisingly earnest side.
On the May 5 broadcast of SBS Plus variety show Sangnamja-ui Yeohaengbeop in Kyushu, viewers followed day two of a Kyushu trip with Sung-hoon Choo, Jong-kook Kim, and Daesung. While relaxing at their lodging, the trio naturally drifted into a conversation about marriage and age.
The mood was playful from the start. While doing laundry, Sung-hoon Choo threw a blunt jab at Jong-kook Kim, saying, "You smell." He kept teasing by critiquing Kim's outfit. Kim fired back, "You're worse," and their bickering chemistry had everyone laughing.
As the youngest, Daesung quietly looked after his hyungs amid the noisy chaos. He prepared slippers, hung up a damp towel to help with throat care, and even stuffed a pillow into a wall hole to reduce snoring noise — small, thoughtful gestures that warmed hearts.
As the conversation deepened, Daesung brought up marriage. "In 20 years, I'll be around 55 or 56. I'd like to have a child by then," he shared. "I used to think I absolutely had to marry before 40." He added, "These days, people can stay active much longer. Your 50s are still prime, and plenty are still working in their 60s. Socially, that might actually be when you have the most strength and stability," revealing a realistic concern.
Jong-kook Kim agreed, saying, "I used to assume I'd be married by then, too." Sung-hoon Choo echoed the generational shift, adding, "Young people definitely think differently."
