Medicube is teaming up with IVE’s Jang Wonyoung to launch a collaboration hair brush — and the price is already sparking buzz.
On the 11th, Medicube, a beauty-tech brand under domestic company APR, announced the release via its official Japan social media accounts and posted a related video.
The video spotlights a round hair brush adorned with a pink ribbon. The cherry-like design evokes 'FOREVER:CHERRY,' which previously made headlines after Jang Wonyoung filed a trademark application.
According to the description, this limited-edition hair brush is designed to minimize scalp irritation while helping create smooth, soft hair. The Jang Wonyoung collaboration brush is currently available on Qoo10 Japan, priced at a list price of 3,600 yen (about 33,820 KRW).
Once the product details and price dropped, fans reacted by saying, "For a functional brush, the price is reasonable," and "At this level, it’s not bad."
Meanwhile, in January, Jang Wonyoung filed trademark applications for the names 'Forever:Cherry' and 'FOREVER:CHERRY,' as well as a cherry-shaped logo. As the controversy grew, her agency Starship Entertainment clarified through an official statement: "Forever Cherry is a brand collaboration project and not Jang Wonyoung’s personal business."
