In a development stirring controversy, actor Lee Min-ki’s one-person corporation was investigated by the tax authorities and hit with additional assessments.

On the 20th, his agency Sangyoung ENT stated, “We respect the National Tax Service’s findings,” adding, “The imposed back taxes were paid promptly in accordance with the relevant procedures.”

The agency did not disclose the details of the investigation or the total amount assessed. It added, “Since his debut, Lee Min-ki has consistently complied with tax laws and faithfully fulfilled his tax obligations. During the recent tax audit, he submitted the required materials transparently and cooperated fully.” The company continued, “The outcome stems from differing interpretations between the authorities and our side over expense treatment in the course of running the corporation,” stressing, “There was absolutely no intentional omission of income or any fraudulent method of evasion.”

Meanwhile, Lee Min-ki is gearing up for the premiere of ENA’s Monday–Tuesday drama Crash Season 2.
