JYP Entertainment drew a hard line, vowing a zero-tolerance crackdown on malicious commenters and stalkers.

On the 20th, JYP Entertainment released an official statement detailing its ongoing legal actions against authors of malicious posts targeting its artists and against stalkers.

The agency stated, "We have filed criminal complaints against individuals who wrote, created, and distributed malicious content about our artists via community platforms, messengers, social media, or our ethics management reporting service," adding, "They have undergone or are currently undergoing rigorous investigations by law enforcement, and some have been found guilty of violations such as the Information and Communications Network Act or the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, receiving fines. We also inform you that additional penalties have been imposed, including orders to complete sex-offense treatment programs and employment restrictions at institutions related to children and adolescents."

The agency continued, "Legal measures against malicious content posted on overseas online platforms or against perpetrators residing abroad are also being pursued without exception," emphasizing, "In particular, in U.S. court proceedings, during the discovery process, the court dismissed the opposing party's objection based on freedom of expression and ultimately issued an order compelling the provision of information."

In closing, the agency stressed, "Stalking behaviors that threaten our artists' safety and severely invade their privacy are also subject to our hard-line response," adding that it is actively using local court systems to hold stalkers living overseas legally accountable.
