Character posters for the co-ed group Triangle and ballad singer Choi Seong-gon (played by Oh Jung-se) from the film Wild Thing have been unveiled.
On the 22nd, the Wild Thing team sparked buzz by dropping the character posters alongside news of a soundtrack release.
The film is a comedy about Triangle, a three-member co-ed dance group that once dominated the music scene but disbanded overnight after an unexpected incident, as they make a reckless bid to seize a comeback chance 20 years later. In the story, rivals Triangle (Kang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, Park Ji-hyun) and Choi Seong-gon will release tracks simultaneously at 12 p.m. today via major Korean music sites and global platforms.
The four photocard-style posters released alongside the announcement perfectly recreate late-’90s/turn-of-the-century star visuals.
Triangle’s poster, spotlighting a futuristic Y2K concept, builds a cool, warrior-like image with bold smoky makeup, metallic sheen materials, and structured oversized outfits, while the contrasting Choi Seong-gon exudes a pure look that still stands out.
As soon as the posters dropped, some netizens reacted with comments like "Oh Jung-se is killing me," "These photos are infuriatingly funny," and "Is this everyone’s retirement project?"
Meanwhile, Wild Thing will hit theaters nationwide on June 3.
