A buzzy cross-border drama led by powerhouse actors Lee Joon Gi and Kentaro Sakaguchi is officially landing in Korea.

On the 22nd, Channel A confirmed domestic programming for kiDnap GAME and officially announced both stars in the cast.

The Name of the Game Is Kidnap is a large-scale project backed by a global production team that’s been generating buzz since the planning stage. With broadcasts and streaming now confirmed in 18 regions worldwide, including Korea, Channel A will oversee the series’ Korean broadcast.

The drama unfolds around a wave of simultaneous kidnappings across seven Asian cities—Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha, and Manila. Families of the victims receive a chilling message: “How far will you go to save the one you love? Only one person can survive.” Seven people, each assigned different missions, are forced to compete in their own ways to rescue someone they love.

As the story escalates, people with different nationalities, backgrounds, and values are thrown into a massive survival game. The series races to uncover why they were chosen and what truth lies behind the operation.

Lee Joon Gi plays Han Ki-ju, a retired doctor from Seoul and once a world-class surgeon who left the operating room for personal reasons. His quiet life shatters when his daughter is kidnapped, thrusting him into the heart of the case. His quest to save her pushes him into repeated, extreme choices between mysterious directives and his own judgment. Notably, this marks Lee’s TV comeback three years after his 2023 series Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun.

Joining him from Tokyo, Kentaro Sakaguchi tracks the mastermind as elite detective Niide Toshiro—a risk-it-all officer driven by an unshakable sense of justice.

The Name of the Game Is Kidnap is slated to premiere on Channel A this October.
