Shocking buzz: After earning the coveted “10-million actor” title with his silver-screen debut, Lee Do-hyun is already teasing another phenomenon.

On May 22, his agency YH Entertainment revealed that Lee has been offered a role in the romance film Viva La Vida—a true-story adaptation based on the Netflix movie of the same name—and is positively reviewing the offer.

Released in 2024 to global acclaim from critics and audiences, the original tells a heartwarming story of two strangers facing the end of life. After a chance meeting, they form a special partnership, become each other’s sole anchor for the time they have left, and set out to find the true meaning of life and love.

According to reports, Lee has been offered the role of a terminal patient diagnosed with grade IV glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor. Although he undergoes surgery, the cancer tragically returns. After stumbling upon a video of the heroine, who is desperately awaiting a kidney transplant, he seeks her out, stays by her side, and forges a fated, extraordinary bond—showcasing deeply layered emotions on screen.

For the Korean remake, the powerful storyline and character setups will reportedly be finely adjusted to better resonate with local audiences.

Adding to the excitement, Kim Min-ha is reportedly being considered as the female lead opposite Lee. If both finalize, anticipation is already soaring to see how the 1995-born peers will portray a tender yet heartbreaking “terminal-illness couple” chemistry on the big screen.

Meanwhile, after completing his military service, Lee Do-hyun recently wrapped filming his first post-discharge project, the Netflix original series Grand Galaxy Hotel.
