BTS turned Las Vegas purple.

On the 25th (local time), the '2026 American Music Awards' (AMA 2026) took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA.

That night, BTS kicked off 'AMA 2026' with a powerful opening performance and later took the stage as presenters for Best Female R&B Artist, drawing thunderous cheers. Reports say the entire arena rose to its feet.

BTS was nominated in three categories: Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer for the title track 'SWIM' from their newly released fifth full-length album 'Arirang,' and Best Male K-Pop Artist. Gold Derby, a major U.S. awards prediction outlet, listed BTS as the No. 1 favorite for Artist of the Year (56.5%). They ultimately clinched the top honor.

They beat heavy-hitters Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift to be named Artist of the Year. They also swept Song of the Summer with 'SWIM,' taking home two trophies on the night.

On stage, the members said, "Thank you, ARMY, for your love and support," expressing their gratitude to fans.

Back in 2021, BTS made history as the first Asian act to win 'Artist of the Year' at 'AMA 2021.' Five years later, they have claimed the honor once again.
