Actor Shin Ye-eun is returning to the small screen with a character overflowing with charm and sweetness.
On the 26th, ENA held a press conference for its new Monday–Tuesday drama Doctor Seomboy. Director Lee Myung-woo attended alongside actors Shin Ye-eun, Hong Min-ki, Lee Soo-kyung, and Kim Yoon-woo, ramping up excitement for the series.
Shin Ye-eun plays nurse Yuk Hari, who returns to her hometown of Pyeondongdo carrying a secret. "Yuk Hari is confident at times and tender at others — she has so many charms," she said, adding, "I think her lovely side most resembles me." She continued, "If someone is trapped in pain, she’s the first to jump in to help — she’s righteous, and in a way, a little meddlesome," revealing her affection for the character.
Shin also cited her long-standing connection with director Lee Myung-woo as a key reason for choosing the project. "Early in my career, I met the director at my very first audition," she recalled. "I didn’t pass that audition, but while watching his works afterward, I promised myself I’d be in one someday. Years passed, and we finally get to work together."
Hinting at a blend of romance and human drama, Shin Ye-eun raised expectations: "Not only the main cast, but every character feels alive, so filming was a joy."
Meanwhile, Doctor Seomboy is a medical human romance following public health doctor Do Ji-ui (played by Lee Jae-wook), who is assigned to the notorious island everyone avoids — Pyeondongdo — and the secretive nurse Yuk Hari. The drama is set to premiere on June 1 at 10 p.m.
