Actors Park Si-eun and Jin Tae-hyun opened up about pain they had struggled to speak about until now.
At the end of the May 26 broadcast of the SBS variety show Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny, a teaser featuring the couple aired. In it, they visited a hospital. Jin explained that he was there for a check-up to confirm whether his thyroid cancer had recurred a year after surgery.
Before the tests, Park couldn’t hide her nerves. "The moment I headed to the ultrasound room, past memories came rushing back," she confessed. "It became a difficult place for me because it’s where I faced the end of three pregnancies."
Recalling her past miscarriages, Park spoke through tears: "When a baby’s heart is beating, the ultrasound screen shows in color. When life is lost, it turns black-and-white." The couple once said goodbye to their baby just 20 days before the due date.
The teaser also revealed Jin’s raw honesty. To Park, he admitted, "I always feel sorry. I sometimes thought that if you had married someone else, you might have had a more ordinary, happier family."
Park responded, "I think this is the first time I’m bringing this up," carefully sharing emotions she had kept to herself.
