Shocking turn: DAY6 drummer Dowoon has finally spoken up about the viral dating and marriage rumors tied to influencer Yoo Jiyu, asking fans to wait — and igniting a fresh wave of backlash.
On the 28th, Dowoon took to his Instagram Stories, writing, "Our team isn’t disappearing no matter what. I’m not going anywhere, and don’t even look at negative posts."
He added, "For the time being, ignore anything you see about me. I’m sorry for making you hurt. Please wait a little."
His remarks appear to address speculation that spread across online communities and social media alleging Dowoon was dating — and even set to marry — influencer Yoo Jiyu. Previously, his agency JYP Entertainment said it had "no comment" on the matter.
However, fans’ disappointment is growing over Dowoon’s response. Comments flooding fandom spaces include: "How can he act like nothing happened?", "That’s unbelievably flippant", and "How long are we supposed to wait?"
Meanwhile, DAY6 is scheduled to hold the finale of their 10th-anniversary tour at the KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, from July 3 to 5.
