On May 28, screenshots showing G-Dragon tapping “like” on an SNS post sharing an official statement from Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist spread rapidly online. The post summarized that claims raised by YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. — including allegations that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor — were proven fabricated according to investigative authorities.
G-Dragon and Kim Soo Hyun, both born in 1988, are well-known friends. In February 2025, Kim Soo Hyun attended the listening session for G-Dragon’s full-length album ‘Übermensch,’ further showing their bond.
However, some netizens criticized G-Dragon’s “like,” arguing it was “still a sensitive issue.” Perhaps for this reason, he soon appears to have removed the “like.”

Meanwhile, police said materials presented by Kim Se-eui, head of HoverLab Inc. — including purported messenger logs and audio files — showed signs of malicious editing and manipulation. A court issued an arrest warrant for Kim on charges including defamation. Kim Soo Hyun’s agency stated, “A year ago at the press conference, Kim Soo Hyun said, ‘I won’t ask you to believe me. I will make sure to prove it.’ We are grateful that this time was solely to keep that promise and that the truth has now been proven.”
