Actor Jung Jun-won is going viral even before the premiere as his visuals spark heated debate.

On the 9th, right after MBC’s Friday–Saturday drama Married Woman Killer dropped its teaser, controversy erupted over Jung Jun-won’s looks.

In the drama, adapted from the webtoon of the same name, Jung plays Kwon Tae-seong, the husband of Yoo Bo-na, portrayed by Gong Hyo-jin. In the original, the character is described as an official “handsome man,” so many fans felt let down when the casting was announced.

Once the teaser was released, netizens reacted with divided takes like, "Isn’t the husband supposed to be handsome?", "This is a miscast", "It’s not for everyone, so just don’t watch", and "No one has a face like that in real life."

Jung previously faced similar visuals-related controversy during his romance arc with Go Youn-jung in tvN’s Resident Playbook last year. With this new project, attention is on what kind of on-screen chemistry he will show with Gong Hyo-jin.

Meanwhile, Married Woman Killer follows the grueling work-life-balance battle of a "working mom" with the most lethal job in the world. It premieres on the 31st on MBC and will also be available to stream on Wavve.
