Actress Youn Yuh-jung has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards.
According to the nominees announced on the 8th (local time), Youn is up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the Netflix series Beef Season 2. Back in 2021, she became the first Korean actor to win an Oscar (Academy Award) for the film Minari, and anticipation is soaring over whether she’ll set another historic milestone this year.
Beef Season 2 begins when a young couple accidentally witnesses a company president and his wife in a fierce fight, unfolding a story of razor-sharp mind games and coercion disguised as favors, set against a luxury country club owned by a Korean billionaire. In the series, Youn plays Chairwoman Park.
Meanwhile, the 78th Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles (LA).
