Rookies-turned-viral sensations Woni and Minami of girl group LECENNE are set to appear on JTBC’s hit variety show Knowing Bros, riding the explosive buzz from their YouTube channel.
On the 4th, the Knowing Bros team announced a girl-group special slated to air this month, featuring Brown Eyed Girls’ Narsha and JeA, fromis_9’s Lee Chaeyoung and Baek Ji-heon, LECENNE’s Woni and Minami, and BABYDONCRY’s Ihyeon and Beni.
This special brings together generations from 1.5 to 5th gen to trace the evolution of girl groups in one place. Seniors and juniors with different eras and stage cultures will swap unfiltered stories—generation-by-generation experiences, behind-the-scenes from team activities, and real-time updates.
Brown Eyed Girls will share hard-earned stage wisdom and never-before-heard stories from their prime. fromis_9 is expected to bring bright energy while revealing their rock-solid teamwork and behind-the-scenes moments.
On the rookie line, LECENNE and BABYDONCRY will step up. In particular, all eyes are on LECENNE members Woni and Minami, who’ve been blowing up recently through viral YouTube content and memes.
LECENNE is a five-member group that debuted in 2024. Lately, member Woni’s personal YouTube channel Annyeonghaseyo Woni-imnida Jal Butak Deurimnida has drawn massive attention. Content blending Woni’s Geoje dialect with Minami’s Japanese gyaru concept has spread fast online, turning them into the next big thing.
The duo’s spontaneous catchphrase, the “Geoje Yaho” meme, has especially taken off for its addictive ring—so much so that LECENNE was appointed as official ambassadors for Geoje City. The YouTube channel’s surge in subscribers boosted LECENNE’s overall visibility, and their track ‘LOVE ATTACK’ re-entered the charts post-release, fueling a full-on resurgence.
BABYDONCRY, a four-member group less than a year into their debut, will share candid thoughts on their debut journey and what it’s really like as a 5th-gen girl group.
With cross-generational girl-group talk at its core, the episode promises unique chemistry as seniors’ “back-in-my-day” stories collide with juniors’ current culture. Fans are eager to see how artists from different eras find common ground through music and performance.
The Knowing Bros girl-group special featuring these stars will air sometime in June.
