Shocking pledge in action: Lecenne member May personally sought out singer Sean to keep her chart promise — and finished a 6.25km run that’s now going viral.

On July 6, Sean’s YouTube channel uploaded a video featuring May. The moment she saw Sean, May dropped to her knees and asked for help, immediately drawing attention. Earlier, during a livestream, she vowed that if Lecenne’s song entered the TOP 100, she would run all the way to member Woni’s hometown of Geoje in South Gyeongsang Province.

"I said if we made the TOP 100, I’d run to Geoje — and thankfully, we did. We even climbed to No. 5," May shared. She added, "I was anxiously waiting by myself, but more and more people started watching the pledge video," noting that she even earned the punny nickname "May’s Runner," a play on 'Maze Runner'.

The unexpected buzz reportedly had her agency on edge. "I knew nothing about running, so I was really worried. I checked the distance from Seoul to Geoje, and I studied by watching senior Sean’s videos," she said.

To honor the pledge, May also launched a walking-donation project with fans. "Fans donated their step counts, and I walked too. We matched our debut date, March 26, by walking 3.26 km — but it felt like too little," she admitted. Sean praised her: "It’s great that you tried to keep your promise," while advising, "As a public figure, do your best to keep your word and be careful with what you say."

May then hit the road with Sean. Running alongside her, Sean encouraged, "You run well. Your form looks great. You’ve got potential," as May confessed, "Everyone around me was worried. If I had even been a casual 1 km walker, they’d be less concerned."

In the end, May completed her 6.25 km goal. "My heart rate was even higher than during our debut stage," she said, overwhelmed.

Lecenne, who debuted in 2024, recently went viral thanks to Woni’s 'Geoje Yahoo' meme on YouTube. Their debut mini album’s title track 'Love Attack' has been surging back up the charts. Riding the momentum, Lecenne will drop a remake single 'Pretty Girl' on July 8.
